Weird
Astonishing X-Men #1 ... Animated!

Edit: Oh, and speaking of animated, and X-Men, new 4-minute trailer to Wolverine and the X-Men the new X-Men cartoon series. Looks pretty sweet to me, nice mix of old and new stuff.

That was pretty awesome. I love Kitty and Emma (Snow Queen or something?) is totally hot. I'm down with her and her past evilness.

Emma's other name is the White Queen (which technically speaking is a position in an evilish organization she no longer holds, but I think it's still considered her codename.)

It was kinda cool but still sort of weird, you know? Sort of animated-but-not. Which I guess is the best you can really do unless you want to start the whole thing from scratch (since they just used the panels direct from the comics), but still, it's just sort of weird to see frozen panels with _some_ movement but not much.

Other people have been saying this, but Emma's not British? From the way her dialogue is written, she totally sounds British, no Boston accent for her. Aside from that surprise, the animated comic approach is kind of cool. Most of the images are static but they do throw in a little something here and there to give it some movement.

But I don't know about this Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon. Why is Logan leading the team? I get that Wolverine is, like, the most popular character, but it's just weird seeing him lead. Looks like a decent line-up though.

Well, she is, as you say, from Boston, but there have been at least some references to her having a somewhat affected fake English-y accent. Still, for the animated comic, none of the voice actors really feel all that right and I doubt they did extensive casting. As for the cartoon, well, cartoons always change things anyway, and given how they try to simplify things, if they gave the character an English accent, they probably would have made her English. I'd rather change the accent than change the history. (And it is not the worst accent change in X-Men cartoon history... there was an ill-fated X-Men cartoon where Wolverine had an Aussie accent).

Wolverine has to lead the X-Men because the future says so! Mostly, I suspect it's a marketing thing, he's more marketable. Calling it Wolverine and the X-Men is more marketable than calling it Cyclops and the X-Men, so they manufacture some reason why Wolverine should be in charge. *shrug*
